Jazz is a mental attitude rather than a style. It uses a certain process of the mind expressed spontaneously through some musical instrument. I’m concerned with retaining that process.” Bill Evans, an American Jazz pianist & composer who worked mostly in a trio setting. He is widely considered one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time, and the probably the most influential post-World War II Jazz pianist. Unlike many Jazz musicians of his time, Evans never embraced new movements like jazz fusion or free jazz.
